- ➤ Carson City schools reopened Wednesday after a generic high school threat was deemed not credible—Carson High’s brief hold was lifted as law enforcement maintains enhanced security while NTAC investigates. News4
- ➤ On Jan. 15, the school board discussed consolidating Carson Valley Middle and Pau-Wa-Lu Middle—with changes to grade levels to save nearly $2 million—and will review scenarios at a Jan. 27 meeting, with a town hall on Jan. 28 and a decision on Feb. 3. The Record Courier

- ➤ The Douglas High School girls basketball team won a 50-44 game against Carson High Wednesday evening after a 13-0 run in the third quarter, with freshman Kimber David scoring 13 points. They will play Damonte Ranch at home on Tuesday, Jan. 27. The Record Courier
- ➤ Douglas High School boys basketball beat Carson 75-62 Wednesday night at Carson High School, led by junior Jace Tretton who scored 23 points. The team built a late surge to turn a narrow lead into a secured victory. The Record Courier
